SEOP Week

Today Erica had her SEOP appointment.  Brent stayed home today so Dad, Derek, Erica, and I all went to the appointment.  I was really excited and anxious to see how my girl was doing in school.  I was really surprised and pleased to see that she was doing great.  Her teacher Mrs. Cooley said that she was one of the top students and that she was going to have to find things for her to do so she wouldn't be bored.  Erica showed us her journal.  She had drawn a picture of a quilt.  On the side she had written, "I so a quilt".  I was amazed that she was able to sound out the word quilt and spell it right.  Keep up the good work Erica. We love you so much and are so excited about all the new things that you are learning.

Bed time

Last week Jackson came down stairs.  It was bed time and he should have been in his bed.  Brent and I told him that we were going to have to lock his door if he couldn't stay in his bed.

Jackson said: "Okay but leave the door open a little CRAP (crack)."

Brent and I about died laughing. 

Pumpkin Patch talk.

Jackson went to the pumpkin patch today with his preschool class.  Last week I asked him what kind of pumpkin he was going to get.

Jackson:  "I'm going to get a real tiny one."

Mom: "What is going to be on your pumpkin?"

Jackson" "Its going to have eyes, nose, and a mouth in the shape of a "U" from the ABC's."

 Our beautiful Mum.  This is my favorite plant in our yard.  I have been wanting one for a long time and we finally got one at the beginning of spring.  It started out as a tiny pathetic plant but look at it now after a few months.   So beautiful.  It really did surprise us.

I have been wanting a bike trailer for years.  I finally bought one online.  I love it.  We have gone on a couple of bike rides as a family now.  It has been so much fun doing this together as a family. 

New Traditions August 28, 2012

 After picking up Erica from school we all went out for a first day of school ice cream cone at Arctic Circle.

 Erica and Jackson were so excited.  They were also wiggly the whole time.  Climbing over booths, climbing under booths, and running around booths.  I think that I wont be doing this again by myself until next school year.  It was fun but over whelming with with three small kids.

 Derek loved it too.  They even had a baby cone just his size.

 Afterwards we went to see Dad at his office.  He had some clients in his office so we sat in the lobby and ate suckers.  I had to take picture of them all lounging.  Way cute.

 Erica's friend Kira will be coming over on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school and then we will pick her up for school on Friday's.  They were both so excited.  Kira was only at our house for one hour before they were asking when they were going to school.  They still had three more hours because they have afternoon classes.

 Luckily they are even in the same class.  This is Mrs. Cooley.  She is so fun and nice. Erica and Kira are both giving their teacher a picture that they colored for her.

 Picking Erica up from school.  I was really worried about this part.  I didn't know how they were going to do this. I was thinking that Erica would be left to find me on her own.  Thank goodness all of the Kindergarten Teacher walk with there class to the front door and then stay with them until they are picked up (by the right parent or caregiver).

Jackson's First Day of Preschool August 28, 2012

 Jackson right off of the bus.  I was going to take him to school for the first day but the bus showed up at 8:30 am so I didn't have time to take his picture before school.  It worked out that the bus came because Kira didn't show up at our house until around 9:00 when Jackson should have been to school.

Fancy Nancy Dance Camp and 24th of July

The middle of July Erica went to Fancy Nancy Dance Camp and had the best time.  Her Dad and I and her cousin Kayla came to her performance.  It was so cute.  Erica loves to dance and enjoyed every minute of it.

The kids really wanted to be on the float for the 24th of July parade.  So being the nice mom that I am I rode with them so that Jackson and Derek could go too.  It rained really hard on us most of the time.  I was really glad that Brent had me take Derek's blanket.  We were all really cold but had a fun time.  Enoch had there own celebration at the old church.  It was so much fun.  They had bounce houses there that were free.  We also bought the kids some popcorn and snow cones.
