Derek is now one month old. Time flies so fast. I guess that once you have three kids the days aren't as long even though they can feel like it.

-He is a really good eater. Erica and Jackson both had trouble nursing. So far it has been a pleasant experience for me.

-He is starting to be more awake during the day.

-He does really well at night most of the time. I usually get up twice to feed him, and then he goes back to sleep.

I bought a swaddler blanket a few days ago, and so far I'm loving it. He sleeps in it at night and sometimes for naps. Its so funny. He can be fussing one min. and then I put him in the blanket and he is sound asleep.

Brent and I have really enjoyed him. He is such a sweet little guy.

Erica's Early Birthday Party Dec. 13, 2010

Since we are moving to Cedar and wont be here in Richfield for Erica's birthday (Jan. 5) so I had a friend party early for her. We invited 11 of her little friends:
Caleb and Addilyn
Jaxon and Madi
Aubrey and Tyler
Zach and Allie
Ethan
Katera
and Julia
When the kids arrived we made little advent calendars with the kids. My friends Katie, Ashely, Amanda, and Cindy stayed with their kids and helped me out a ton. After the craft we played "Find Santa's Raindeer" I told the kids a story about how the raindeer had a party on Christmas Eve and Santa couldn't find them, so he sent his elves (the kids) around to find them so that there would be presents for Christmas. They went excitedly running around looking for them. Afterwords they brought them to the table and we put them in order from 1 to 8. Caleb asked me were was Rudolph. I know I should have printed one out. Then we played "The Christmas Candle" It is kind of like pin the tail on the donkey. The kids were blind folded and then spun around. Then they would walk toward me and try to blow out the candle. Ethan and Katera had so much fun with this and would help we blow out the matches. After all the kids had gone we opened presents. The kids took over at this point. By the time I got over there to watch almost all the presents were open. Afterwords we sand Happy Birthday and ate Christmas cupcakes and tree cookies and m&m cookies with Red and Green drinks (Cherry and Lemon Lime 7UP).
The party ended a little early so the kids went running though the house laughing and having so much fun. When everyone was gone we took Julia home and picked up Jackson. Debbie was so nice to watch him for me. I don't think that I could have done the party and watched him at the same time.

Erica has loved playing with all of her new toys and can't stop talking about the fun games that we played. It was a fun way to somewhat end our life here in Richfield. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

The New House

The home is in Enoch. Brent is very excited about the third garage, and I love the kitchen. By the way the kitchen does not have the word kitchen across the Island. That was a mistake that I made with the pic.

Yesterday we found out that we are for sure selling our home. The loan for the couple passed underwriting and now they are working on the appraisal. We are also working on our loan. Over Thanks Giving we went down to Cedar. We went and looked at a home in Enoch and just loved it. It has been on the market for over 3 years has never been lived in. It has 3 bedrooms upstairs and also an unfinished basement. I never would have thought I would ever live in Enoch, but we loved the house and the neighborhood has a lot of young families and we hear the ward is wonderful. We made an offer on Thanks Giving and the accepted it the next day.

We had been blessed with how everything has been working out. We accepted an offer on our home here in Richfield after only having it up for 3 weeks and then to find the perfect home in Enoch has really lifted a weight off our shoulders. We are so grateful for all of the blessings we have had during this process.

Derek's Birth Story

Friday morning at around 12:00am I started to have really uncomfortable back pain while I was laying in bed. I also noticed that I was having regular contractions but they didn't hurt. After a while I decide to get up and watch a movie since I wasn't getting any sleep. This continued all night. At around 6:30am I finally fell asleep for about 45 min. When I woke up I decided I should call Dixie my midwife to see if she thought I should go into the hospital. I had been to see her the day before and I was dilated to a 5+. She suggested the I head into the hospital. At 8:30am we headed over to the Waters house to drop off the kids. At 9:00am we were at the hospital. I was feeling a little like I may have over reacted and was just wanting to have this baby because the contractions were dying down a little. After we were admitted Dixie came into check me. I had dilated to a 7+. Wow, I was so glad that something was happening and that I wasn't going crazy. The hooked me up to and IV to get the strep B antibiotic. About 4 hours later she came back into see how I was doing. I had a grin on my face Brent said and couldn't believe that the labor was going so well. It was actually boring. She checked me again and I was at a 9+. I was so excited and nervous. We really only had to wait and see if my water would break on its own or not. Dixie didn't want to do it right away because she had another girl across the hall that was having a hard time. She had been pushing for over 4 hours and still had not had the baby. I felt bad for her and was glad that I was not in any pain so that she could go over and help her out. At lunch time they brought we a salad and Brent left to go and pick of the kids to take them home to be with my Mom and Janet. After getting the kids feed and Jackson down for a nap he came back. While we waited and waited we played trivia on Brent's phone. I won the little contest we were having. Brent would do football trivia and I did Disney movie trivia. We liked to see who could get the most questions right before getting a wrong answer. After doing that for a while we went for a walk though the hospital. Dixie also had a ball for me to sit on and bounce to help try and break my water. Well I was at a 9+ for over 4 hours before Dixie came back in. The girl across the hall had finally delivered and they had been taking care of her and the baby for a while. At around 8:45pm she broke my water. The contractions had started to pick up and get harder about 20 mins before she came back. They were still manageable though. A little while after she broke my water the contractions started to come hard. Brent was so good to me. He stayed right by my side and held my hand, and when I would have a contractions Dixie showed him how to push on my knees to help with the pain. After a while I started to feel the need to push. It was the most horrible pain that I have ever been in. My cervix had on completely effaced. Dixie described it as being a little turtle neck that I had to push Derek though. After pushing though about 5 contractions could have been more or less I'm not sure because it seem like eternity to me, he finally came though. Then came the really pain. I was thinking in my head all I have to do is get his head though and then he will just slide out. Wrong! His shoulders got stuck and I had to continue pushing though one more contraction a least. After he came out I was so out of it Brent thought that I was going into shock. All I could hear was Derek screaming. You have no Idea how good that sounded after poor little Jackson and all that he went though. After about 30 to 45 mins of being in the worst pain ever I could not believe what had just happened and that it was finally over. They placed Derek on me and He was perfect. I could do nothing by look at his cute face and dark brown hair. I had been waiting for 8 1/2 months to see if he was a red head or not. They took him from to clean him up and weigh him. Brent and I had a little guessing game on the weight. I thought he would be 7lbs 4oz. Brent guessed 7lbs 10 oz. He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 21 1/2 inches long.

It took me until the next afternoon to really process my delivery and going natural. If you would have asked me right after I delivered if I would do it again I would have said HECK NO!!! But now looking back on it it was a really good experience and I'm so glad that I did it. Now knowing what to expect I think that if we have anymore children I could do it again. We will see how I'm feeling when it gets to the point.

Brent't Experience:

November 19, 2010

I woke up and began to get ready for work just like any other weekday morning. As I got ready, Carol and I talked about the labor pains that she was having. Was today going to be the big day? She called her midwife (Dixie Rasmussen) and was given the go ahead to come into the hospital and get checked. Rather than going to work I helped get the kids ready. We took Jackson and Erica over to Kaden and Amanda Waters’ house and then headed to the hospital. I called Heather Rickenbach at work and let her know that I would not be coming in today as we drove to the hospital. Once at Sevier Valley Medical Center, Carol was checked in and got settled into her room. Dixie showed up moments later. She checked Carol and found her dilated to 7cm. That was good enough to let us know that we were going to have a baby today.

I went back out to the car to grab Carol’s bags and also to call parents. I called Teri and let her know that she needed to get packing and head up to Richfield. She was going to come up and help out with Erica and Jackson. After making the calls, I headed back in the front door of the hospital and down the hall to Carol’s room. The next few hours were pretty uneventful. I played games on my phone and talked with carol while she watched TV. A nurse would come in hourly to check the baby’s heart beat. At about 12pm, I headed out to pick up Erica and Jackson from the Waters’ home. Teri was about to Richfield and was going to meet me at our house. I dropped the kids off at home and straightened up the house a bit. We had an appraiser coming by at 1pm to look at our home. Amongst have a baby, we were selling our home and moving back to Cedar City.

After getting the house picked up and helping Teri settle in, I headed back to the hospital. The rest of the day would be pretty uneventful until the baby was born. Carol and I talked and did more of the same loafing around for the next several hours. At about 1pm she was dilated to 9cm. Since she was so dilated I thought that the baby would be coming any second. That would not be the case. Dixie had another mother next door that was having difficulty pushing her baby out. Carol would have to wait until that baby was born. Carol continued to manage her pain with no help from medicinal anesthetic. The nurses that came in the room referred to her as ‘Super Woman’. I occasionally pushed on her back which offered some pain relief but that was the extent of my helping. There was not much that I could do. Carol managed her pain extremely well. Dixie came in for a few seconds at a time to see how Carol was doing. On one of her visits she turned some weird hippy earth music on to help create a “soothing” atmosphere. I don’t know how Carol felt, but it drove me nuts. I turned it down rather than turning it off so Dixie would not be offended that I hated her music. At about 8pm we heard cries from the other room which meant that it was getting close to our turn. Sure enough, Dixie came in shortly thereafter and was able to focus all her time on Carol. Dixie did better with the music the second time. She picked some church hymns played on a piano. It was much more relaxing. Not that the music was for me, but I hope that Carol was able to relax to it better because things were about to get intense. Dixie broke Carol’s water. I was amazed at how much fluid came out. It was now pushing time. I helped by holding Carol’s legs as she pushed through contractions. Carol was not talking much at this point. It must have been the pain. One of the nurses showed me how to tell that Carol was having a contraction by watching squiggly lines on a monitor. It was a little helpful. Carol’s face actually gave me the best cues as to when she was having a contraction. Her eyes would start to get really wide and then I would know that she needed me to start pushing against her legs. This went on for about 45 minutes and then the real action started. When the contractions intensified to certain point, I stepped aside and only help up one of Carol’s legs. Dixie stepped in to deliver the baby. I was proud of Carol as she pushed. She was in obvious pain. She was working really hard. Her face was a purplish red and she had a vein that would poke out on her forehead. After a few hard contractions Derek’s little head was barely visible. I knew that this was the hardest thing that Carol had ever done. She was doing so great, but I could see in her eyes that she wanted to quit and be done with it. Dixie yelled out words of encouragement. I only spoke words of encouragement. I am not much of a yeller. Dixie’s loud voice seemed to motivate Carol through the really tough points because Carol just kept pushing. It was amazing. I was so proud of her. Derek’s entire head came out first. Dixie and I both excitedly pronounced, “He is here!” Carol relaxed at that point for a brief second. I think that she may have assumed that it was all over. We needed the rest of his body so Dixie raised her voice again and encouraged Carol to keep pushing. Seconds later, Derek was really here. He had dark hair and appeared completely healthy. I was so excited. I looked back at Carol and wanted her to have the same excitement that I had, but she only lay on the bed completely exhausted. Dixie handed me some scissors to cut the umbilical cord. The afterbirth follow shortly…I think it happened in that order. I just wanted to see Derek. I wasn’t really worried about much else going on. Derek was breathing perfectly which was such a relief after the ordeal that Jackson went through. Dixie handed Derek to me and I put him on a scale to weigh him. He weighed in at a solid 7 pounds 11 ounces. He went to Carol right after that. By this point she was able to eke out a few small smiles but in large was still terribly exhausted and showed little emotion. The Hospital Cafeteria made Carol a sandwich. I fed it to her while she held Derek. After all the work and pain that Carol went through, feeding her a sandwich was the least I could do. She was my hero after enduring such amazing pain. I would have done anything for her.

Mark was in town now and was able to stay with the kids so Teri could come out to see Carol and our new baby. She picked up some food for me at Arby’s. That was very nice of her. Carol moved to another room with Derek about an hour and a half after the birth. She was doing much better by the time she got to her new room. I stayed and talked with her until about 11pm. I was so excited for her. She did a wonderful job. I am proud that she chose to deliver the baby naturally and that she fought through all the pain. It was incredible to see how strong she was. Equally as cool was how healthy Derek was at birth. It was a wonderful day.

37 Weeks and 3 Days

Yesterday I went in for my appointment. The baby is very squished and moves a lot. Dixie (my Midwife) checked me and I'm at 4+ dilated. She thinks that I will have the baby before Thanks Giving. I don't think that anything will happen though unless she strips me. Today I went in for and ultrasound to check the baby's fluid levels. 2 Weeks ago my levels were at 11.2 and today they were 10.7 . The girl thinks that I could still be about the same though because the pockets that were measured could be different ones. Anyway for those of you who have never had low fluid I will explain. Anything above a 10 is good. On average though this far along most people are about a 20. The levels start to get dangerous once you go below 10 and if you get to a 5 they will do and intervention and deliver the baby. One of my sisters had low fluid and they and to deliver the baby, so I guess that it runs in the family. On Thursday I go back in to see Dixie so she can check me again so that I don't get so far dilated that the baby comes to fast that they can't give me the antibiotic. Well I'm so ready to have this baby and I can't wait to meet him. I'm wondering if he will have red hair. I think at this point I would be shocked if he didn't.

36 Weeks and 3 Days

Today I went in for my 36 week check up. Everything is looking good. I'm dilated to a 3+ and 70% effaced, and the baby is at a Zero station. I have one more week of taking it easy and then I can get up and do what ever I want. I hope that nothing happens before Monday because my Midwife is going to be gone until Sunday. We are almost done, Yeah! I'm ready to be done.

For Sale!

I know it's crazy. Our home is for sale. It's really sad. 2 Weeks ago tomorrow Brent was offered a promotion with State Bank. They also gave him a significant raise. The catch....the job is back in Cedar City which I'm not sad about because all my family but one sister lives there. It will be nice to live by family again. Brent and I feel that family should live by each other. We are so sad to be leaving our friends that we have made here in Richfield. They have been so great to us. I'm really sad that Erica will also be leaving all of her little friends. She has some really great ones. We hope that we will be able to come back every now and then to see everyone. Brent told me about a talk that he had heard that always has stuck in his mind. I'm not sure who wrote it but the guy said something like this: We all have those shooting star moments in our lives that will always stay with us. Richfield is defiantly our Shooting Star. Our time here in Richfield went by so fast, but it was such a defining moment in our lives that we will never forget all of the experiences; and we will never forget the friends we have made.

Hansen's Pumpkin Patch

For FHE a couple of weeks ago we went to the Pumpkin Patch. It was so much fun.
It had been raining all day so it might not have been the best day, but Erica loved
holding her umbrella and picking her pumpkin. We went on a Hay ride though the fields.
By the time we were done we had clumps of mud all over our shoes. Still worth the cute smiles on those kids faces.

Tick-or-Treat

Brent took the kids Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood.
They had so much fun. He is such a nice dad. He wasn't feeling well but he went
anyway because he loves his kids so much. I would have taken
them but I'm on bed-rest and kind of had to pick and choose
what I did. I wanted to go so bad.
While they were gone I cooked the Jack-O-Lantern pizza we got from Papa Murrphy's.
They both thought it was the greatest thing. Jackson just loves pumpkins and ghosts, and everything to do with Halloween. He was our little Dragon and Erica our Little Witch.
I found Jackson's costume for $6 and Made Erica's.
It took me forever to find a witch's Hat, but I finally found one. I tried making her a hat, but forgot to make seam allowances for her head.
After we ate dinner the Waters came by for Trick-or-Treating.
It was fun to see them. After they left we got in the car and went around to some families in the ward. We stopped at Laurie Thalman's Erica and Jackson just love her. She is the nursery leader in our ward. We also went to Bishop McAllister's home and to Miss Paula's house. Then we went to Heather R.'s home (Brent works with her). We always so to get a socker from her at the bank. She had some cute little treats just for Erica and Jackson.
Then we went home and the kids had a bubble bath and then went to bed.
It was a really fun day. I love Halloween when you have little kids. They just make the holidays so much more fun.

10th Ward Carnival

Our Ward Primary had a Halloween Carnival and Trunk-or-Treat.
Jackson had so much fun. Erica had a great time too. You can't really
tell my the photos though. It was raining out side so they had the Trick-or-Treating
though the halls. Everyone passing out candy stood in the classroom doorways
while the kids did a parade and then came back around for
their candy. Nicole Harmon (she is in the primary presidency) took
Erica around for us. It was so nice of her. Jackson loved getting his candy too.
By the end he had it down... You take the candy and put it in your pumpkin!
It was really fun to watch.

School Halloween Party

On October 28 Erica had a party at School. I signed up to help.
We started out by taking a group picture and then went
Tick-or-Treating to a couple of homes on Miss Paula's street.
Then we came back and made little witch hat treats.
The kids all really liked them. We took some chocolate covered cookies, frosting, and
Hersey kisses. We frosted the kisses onto the cookie. It was
really quick and easy.
After the treat Miss Paula read a Halloween story and then we all went outside
so the kids could sing the Halloween songs they had learned during the month.
They were also cute. Erica sang all the way home.

Carving Pumpkins

Jackson and Erica had such a fun time carving pumpkins this year.
Erica also gave them names.
The one on the Left is "Scared Pumpkin" and the one on the
right is "Dancing Pumpkin/Scary Pumpkin".
My Grandma Dunnell Sent us and e-card
That had a dancing pumpkin with the same face. Thus Dancing Pumpkin.

34 Weeks

Today I am 34 weeks along in my pregnancy with our second boy. The last couple of days have been kind of crazy. Please do not be alarmed. I'm just writing this down for our family journal.

On Thursday I went in for a regular appointment. I had been feeling contractions getting a little stronger all week but nothing I felt to be alarmed about. I was hoping that when I went in though she would check me to see if I had dilated any. When I was almost 35 weeks with Jackson she checked me and I had dilated to 2 1/2 cm and was told to go on bed-rest for two weeks. Well anyway when I got to my checkup Dixie wasn't there because she had a delivery at the Hospital. The nurse did my check up. I had told her about the contractions, and said that I would start keeping track of them, but that I didn't think that they were very regular. She said she would call Dixie and they would try to get me in either at the end of the day or next week to check things.

When I got home I started to monitor the contractions. I then realized that they were more like 8 to 10 min apart and had been getting a little stronger. At 6:30pm Dixie office called after hours and wanted me to come in so Dixie could check me. I gave them the log of the contractions and then Dixie came in to check me. I am dilated to 2 cm. We weren't alarmed by this though because of my pregnancy with Jackson so she gave me a prescription that helps to slow down the contractions and told me to take it when I got home. If after 2 hours they had not lessened then I was to call her and she would decided if I should go in to the hospital to have then give me a stronger drug to stop the contractions.

10:00 pm the contractions actually got stronger and longer than before. Brent called our friends the Waters. They came over to help Brent give me a blessing and then stayed with our kids for a little while so that Brent could come to the Hospital with me (Kaden's parents were over at their house with their kids). Dixie had called ahead to let them know that I was coming. When I got there the hooked me up to and IV and then also gave me the antibiotic for the strep B to pre-treat in the case of pre-mature labor. I was also given a shot to help stop the contractions and a Steroid shot for the baby to help with lung development if we were to have the baby before 37 weeks. By the way all of this is just precaution! The steroid shot hurt so bad. The shot was the fast part but the medications burns for the longest time. I wanted to cry. Brent was so nice to me he stood by me and told me its okay to cry if you need to. Finally the pain when away. I don't think that it was there for more than 1 or 2 min maybe even shorted, but it felt like and eternity. Brent went home to the kids at around 11:30 so that Amanda could go home and I spent that night at the hospital to be monitored. The contractions stopped almost altogether after they gave me the shot to stop them. They continued with the antibiotic though the night and also the prescription that Dixie had given me earlier in the evening.

At 8:00am they brought me breakfast. It was so good. There was and egg ham and cheese omelet, toast, bacon, and green grapes, and also some cereal. I was so hungry that I ate all of it. The then wheeled me out at about 9:00am. I was told to keep taking my prescription for another 24 hour and then as needed, and to also come back that night to have another steroid shot (NO not another one I thought I was done with that).

Brent has been so good to help me though. I was suppose to go up north yesterday to get the rest of our fence for the backyard, but now that was out of the question. Brent took the day off and when up with Erica and Jackson. It was nice to have the house all to myself. They got home at around 2:30pm and we hurried to get Erica ready for a birthday party she had been invited to. It was a pretend beach party. All of the kids wore their swim suits. Erica had so much fun. She keeps telling me how she went to the beach.

Well the contractions have pretty much stopped. I still feel one every now and then when I exert myself to much. I guess thats a good thing because then it makes me realize I'm doing to much and need to go and sit down. I made it though the second steroid shot and lived. I'm to stay down as much as I can until my appointment next Thursday, and then they will decide what needs to be done from there. It's so nice this all happened around the weekend because Brent can be home with me and the kids. He has been so good to me and makes sure that I'm getting as much rest as possible.

Yesterday while Brent was home for lunch Erica got out the gum.

Mom: "Did you ask for some gum Erica."

Erica: "Yes, I asked myself."

Friends

Last Thursday I had book club at my house. I made caramel apples dipped in white chocolate and rolled in sugar, cinnamon, and brown sugar, brownies, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and we also had chips and salsa and clementines.

About 30 mins before everyone arrived I started to put out all the goodies. Jackson had gone to bed and we were just about to put Erica to bed also. She kept coming up and wanting a brownie. Dad told her that the treats were for mommies friends. Erica's reply was:

"But I'm Mommies Friend!"

So cute. She came back upstairs and told me that she was my friend too. I told her how much I loved that she was my friend and gave her a brownie because she was my friend. She didn't go down to bed when I thought that she would so she kept coming up and sneaking brownies while all the girls were there. She cracks me up. How can you not love suck a cute little girl.

6 Years!

On September 18 Brent and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. I can't believe we have had that many. It seems like maybe 3 years when you factor in that we have two kids and one on the way. Some friends watched Erica and Jackson for us and Brent and I went out for dinner. We don't go out to eat a lot so we decided to try something new. We went to the 5 Amigo's Mexican restaurant. I love Mexican food and this was really good food. We tried to not hurry with our dinner and just sat and talked for a while. It was really nice. Then we went to Home Depot to get some stakes for the trees that we had planted earlier that day.

I want to thank Brent for all that he does for our little family. I love him very much.

First Day of Pre-School.... Miss Paula's Class

Erica already for School with Dad before he goes to work.

Erica out side Miss Paula's House heading in for the day. She picked her outfit out for the day.
I think that she did a really good job. The only requirement was that she wear something blue for blue day.

Picking her up from class.

Showing mom what she did in school. She took the football for show and tell.

They made blue play dough.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

I

Love

This

Girl!!! xoxoxo

Erica loves to go though her closet and put on every piece of clothing that she can possibly put on. For this reason I keep a lock on her closet, but the other night I forgot to put it back on. When I was younger I would do this exact same thing when I was her age. It's really cute, but not so much when your the one who is putting the closes back on their hangers and trying to figure out which ones are clean and which ones go in the wash.

Dutch Oven Dinner

For Labor Day this year we went up Monroe Canyon and had a dutch oven dinner. We also did this last year at the end of September. It was so much fun. We went with the Demille's, Thalman's, and the Waters. We had the yummiest food. The Thalman's made cheese dutch oven potatoes, Chicken was brought by the Demilles, and the waters brought a pasta salad. We brought the cherry cobbler. It was all so good. Marie gave me the recipe for the cobbler. I have never been a big fan of cobbler, but this was amazing. I wish that I had made two dutch ovens full because it went so fast. We also roasted marshmallows and made smore's. The kids all loved the marshmallows.

While we were cooking the food we played a game the Demille's brought. It was way fun. I can't remember what it was called though. The Thalman's and Demille's were a team and we were with the Waters. We were doing so bad in the beginning, but came out on top as the winners.

The kids had such a fun time exploring around our little site, and Brent to Erica on a couple of adventure walks.

I hope that this becomes a fun tradition that continues to go on years from now. Thanks to Ashley Demille for getting it all put together this year.

What is it with boy's and bugs?

July visit from Nana

This is our first 4th of July parade here in Richfield. It was so much fun to watch the kids running out to get their candy. I helped Erica pick up the candy. She was being a little shy with all of the other kids running around after candy also. We parked in the drive through at State Bank and sat in the back of the car to watch.

Nancy bought Erica and Jackson this fun swimming pool. The one we had last year blow away during a wind storm. Erica, Nancy, and Brent went to the store while I stayed home and took a nap with Jackson. Erica picked the pool and all the accessories to go in it.

We also went to the park. The kids were having a rough day so we figured we needed to get out of the house. Jackson had so much fun going down the twirly slide and climbing up the climbing wall. Erica was such a sweet sister and had fun going down the slide with him. Nana was nice and pushed Erica on the swing. I'm not so nice because I know we will be at the swings the whole time if I let her get on them.

Playing in the front yard.

The Trees in our back yard started to sap and smell really bad. We had thought about cutting them down this fall but decided to start the project a little early. We took down all the branches off of one of the trees. The kids loved helping. Brent cut down all the branches with his bow saw by hand. I bet his arms were so sore afterwords.

Double Duty!

In our ward we have things called callings.
There are many callings, you could take your pick.
But now you could say we have many many callings,
Because everyone is moving out of our already small ward.
So there are some with none,
And some with one,
And then there are some with many you could say.
I have been selected as one with many.
I try to do my best with visiting teaching,
And I'm sure there are those who could complain about my poor piano skills.
But now they have to put up with my lack of teaching skills.
For I have been called to be a Relief Society Teacher.

Prayers

Last night I had a really hard night. Brent and I decided that we just wanted to relax and watch a movie, so we call out friends and borrowed "The Blind Side." I saw this movie in the theaters with my sisters but Brent hadn't yet. Well on the way over to get the movie my lower back and stomach started to hurt. Then though the movie it was really heard to turn from my back to each side to get comfortable. I had no Tylenol to deal with the pain, and it seemed to get worse though the evening. As I was getting into bed I sat on the side of the bed to say my prayers. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get back up if I knelt down. I prayed that this pain would be taken away and would cause no complications with the pregnancy. I don't think that I have ever just broken down and cried when I have been pregnant. I hear about the emotional roller-coaster all the time, and I just had to give in the let it all out. Poor Brent was just lying there wondering what he could do to help. I finally stopped crying and fell asleep. Around 3:00am I woke up to do my nightly thing and could feel no pain. I'm so grateful for a Heavenly Father that answers our prayers. It was such a nice feeling to know that he had heard my prayer.

It's still a boy!

Today I went in for a 21 week ultrasound to check on the babies growth. Since we found out what we were having at 15 weeks I was still having a hard time taking it in that we were having another boy, but those pictures don't lie. He was all over the place and just so cute. I can't wait to meet him. We already have a name picked out, but I will wait to tell you so that at least one thing can be a surprise when he is born. Brent came with me. I love to have him come with me to the appointments. It makes it feel like we are in this pregnancy together.

Good bye to the old........Hello to the new!

Good Bye! We loved you, but we just had to move on.

Hello!!!!!

Well, we did it. We have been looking for a new car since we found out we were having another kid. Brent did not want a Mini Van and I did not want a Jeep Commander/SUV. Brent was looking around and found the Mazda 5. So yesterday we went up north and test drove this exact Mazda and then bought it today. Totally out of character for either one of us, but we felt good about it. The drive home was so nice. We had room that we never new we were missing out on in our other car. There are 3 rows or seats and it also has sliding doors which I love and I wont have to bend over to get the kids in the car anymore. We both love it.

Sunday Walk

Last Sunday Erica was having a hard time in sacrament meeting because she wanted her blanket that was at home. So Brent took her out. She really needed to go home and get her blanket so she left the Church to walk home. Brent wanted to see if she could do it all by herself so he shadowed her on her walk. She ran all the way home. When she got there Brent ran into the back door to see if she remembered that the front door was locked. A little bit latter he heard the door open and Erica came in though the garage and went right down stairs to her room. He could hear her sucking her thumb. She sat there for a while and then came up the stairs. Then she sat on the floor and sucked her thumb some more. Then she decided that it was time to head back to church. She got all the way down the drive way and up the side walk and then stopped. Brent could see that she was a little nervous. She turned and walked back to the house. When she opened the door she saw her daddy there. She then said, "Daddy come on its time to go back to Church." So they went back to Church.

I'm glad that she knows her way home, but I hope that she never does that again.

Bug Bite Store!

Erica: "Mom I've got a bite on my leg."

Mom: "Is it a bug bite."

Erica: "Yeah, I got it from the bug bite store.

Boy or Girl?

Today we went in for another ultrasound to see if the tearing was healed that happened a couple of weeks ago. I had to go on bedrest for a week and then pretty much no activity for 2 more because of the tearing and bleeding. Brent came with me this time because there was a possibility of finding out what we were having. I have been convinced that we were having a girl for weeks, but Brent wasn't set on any gender. When we went in to do the ultrasound Brent was rushing to get there from work. So they just did all of the measurements first. Then we had the trouble that the baby wouldn't open its legs. It took longer to find out what we were having than it did to take measurements. By the way the babys weight is 6 oz almost a half of a pound and its little foot is almost and inch long. Anyway we finally got a good look. Brent took one look and just new we were having a boy. It was still to hard to really tell though, but he was right. "IT'S A BOY" and we are very excited.

End of the contest

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that helped in voting for our picture. We ended up in the 3oo's. That's pretty good considering there were over 5 thousand pictures in the contest. Thanks again.

Parents Magazine Cover Contest

This morning I got and email from parents magazine stating that I was in the cute kids contest this week with this photo of Erica and Jackson. On a whim I decided to enter them in to the cover contest. The photo that gets the most votes is entered into the semi-finals and gets to go to New York for a week. I don't know that sounds pretty amazing to me. I was just hoping that all of my friends and family would vote for us. Thanks so much. The address to vote is: http://photos.parents.com/category/vote/id/7/w/23/y/2010?page=5251 you can vote once a day up until June 13th. Thanks so much.

Well I'm off of bedrest. I'm still suppose to take it easy, but I can get up and move around and clean. Today Erica, Jackson and I went for a long walk. It felt so nice to get out. Erica rode her bike over to a friends house to drop off some brownies. She was so cute. She showed me the way to get to their house and would stop at the street corners and tell me that we had to wait for the cars. She rode her bike the whole way home too. The walk took about and hour all together. I was tired by the time we got home, but I felt better.

Good friends are like family...

It's so nice to have good friends when you don't have family in town. I have already had so many people offering to help us out since I was put on bed rest yesterday. I'm so greatful for them. Thanks so much to all of you.
We have had some really dramatic days this last little bit. On Sunday night I got really sick. I was vomiting all that night. It was horrible. I also started to cramp up really bad and have horrible back pain. In the morning Brent decided that he would take the day off. It was so nice of him to do that for me. I love him so very very much. I was able to sleep a little bit and then got up to join the world for a few hours and then take another nap. At 2:00pm I went into see Dixie my midwife. On the way over to her office I started to bleed a little. When I got there they set up and ultrasound and Erica and I headed over to the Hospital. Erica was so good the whole time. She sat on a chair and watched the baby. I was so happy to see that heart beat and that the baby was so active. On Sunday night I was worrying about the baby with as much as a was throwing up. In one night I lost 2 pounds. After the ultrasound we went back to Dixie's to get the results. There was a 2cm tear wear the placenta had torn away from the wall. I have been put on bed rest for this week so that we can monitor things. I'm feeling really encouraged though. This same thing happened when I was pregnant with Erica only without the vomiting. So for one boring week I'm not suppose to pick Jackson up or doing any heaving lifting, and I have to sit down as much as possible. Pretty much I'm going to be a coach potato.

An Addition....

Not the greatest picture, but I just wanted to announce that we are expecting
out third child on Dec. 4, 2010. I was 11 weeks on Saturday. I'm going for my first check up this Wednesday.
I can't wait to hear the heart beat. It just seems more really then.
We are all very excited. Erica loves to sing to the baby and give it loves and tickles. It's been really fun to watch her. She is very sure that it will be a baby sister. I think that she is right.
