Sunday Talks

Tomorrow Brent and I will be giving talks in Church. We have been asked to talk about our New Year's Resolutions. Brent and I don't really want make the talks all about us so we are going to be talking more about setting goals. Last Sunday I was giving this poem in R.S. and decided that it would go good in my talk and I also made a goal to go along with it. I'm going to do better at saying my morning prayer.

“The Difference”

I got up early one morning, and rushed right in to the day:

I had so much to accomplish that I didn’t have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me,

And heavier came each task

“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered,

He answered, “You didn’t ask.”

I wanted to see joy and beauty,

But that day toiled on, gray and bleak:

I wondered why God didn’t show me

He said, “But you didn’t seek.”

I tried to come into God’s presence

I used all my keys at the lock,

God gently and lovingly chided,

“My child, you didn’t knock.”

I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day:

I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.

Height: 23 Inches 47%
Weight: 11.07 lbs 38%
Head: 15.28 Inches 19%

Our little man is getting so big. I think that he is already our most chunky baby and I love it. I love those chubby cheeks. They are so fun to kiss.
Derek is smiling all the time now. Its so cute because we don't really have to do anything to make him smile at you.
Today he rolled over from his tummy to his back twice. So far he has done that 4 times. such a strong kid.
He is constantly wiggling when he is awake.
He really wants to suck on his fingers. He just isn't able to get them in his mouth the ways he wants them.
He is sleeping pretty well during the night. He will wake-up once in the middle of the night, and then once between 6:30 and 7:00am. I like it when he wakes up before 7 because that means that he will go back to bed and I can get a little more sleep.
He is also holding his head up really well and his legs are getting stronger everyday. He is able to stand with help for a long time.
Erica is just loving him. She loves to hold him and is such a big helper. Jackson sometimes likes him unless Brent is holding him and then he will tell Brent to give Derek to mommy so that Dad can hold him.

January 5: Erica's 4th Brithday

Erica's Breakfast tea party. I made applesauce muffins. Erica would ask me to pour her some tea. When I was done she would say, "Thank you your Majesty."

Helping to put the M&M's on her Chocolate cake with vanilla pink frosting, requested by the Birthday girl.

Brent and I gave Her a Merlia Barbie, pink slippers, and some Barbie dresses. Her Nana sent her some cute dresses.

Friday evening we had the family party. My parents gave her a pillow pet just like Kayla's.

Blowing out the candles

Some things that come with being four according to Erica:
I always get four of every treat I have.
Mom is not allowed to take toys away when I do something wrong.
I can brush my teeth by myself.
I can pick up Derek all by myself.

He will find a way not matter what!!!!!
Thank goodness I was there to take this picture.
A few seconds afterwords the car started to slide
and I caught him just in time.

Dec. 27th-Dec. 31st: Our Move Back to Cedar

Today we found out that we would be signing on the house in Richfield and hopeful that home in Enoch. It has been so crazy waiting for this whole deal to go though. Its so great that it was finally here but now that meant that we would need to pack. That night I packed up our whole kitchen leaving only a few things that we would need. It was nice that Nancy was there and watched our kids for us so we could pack. The next day (Tuesday) Nancy left for home and Brent went to work I was left all by myself with the kids had a week and a half of help from either Brent or Nancy. It was not fun for any of us getting back into a routine. Wed. afternoon we went and sign on the richfield house and waited for the papers to come in for the Enoch house. I went and got the Kids for the Waters house and went and got lunch for them at McDonald's. Brent called and asked me to come and wait at the Bank for the papers to come in. After the kids were done eating Brent came out of his office and told me we were going to Cedar to get the papers signed so they could fund on the house tomorrow. So we got in the car and left. We got the Cedar my parents took the kids and Brent and I and Derek went to sign the papers. Afterwords we went back to my parents house to have a quick bit and then head back. My mom and Dad were so nice to take Erica and Jackson for us so that we could go home and pack up the house. It was so crazy to believe that Erica and Jackson would not be going back to Richifield. That was their last day and thank goodness they got to play with Aubrey and Tyler.

On the way home the roads were looking really good up until we got past Beaver. Then things got bad really fast. We were heading right into a Blizzard. I have never been in any snow storm that bad. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get to filmore instead of 45 min. We stayed at my Aunt Karma's house to see if the storm would let up. It was so nice of them to let use wait in our on their home. At about 11:00 pm we headed out to go around the back way though Sippio. On a normal night we would have gotten home just before 1:00 am but we didn't get home until 2:00 am.

Thursday Brent and I packed all day, and then Friday Morning the Elders in our ward came and helped us pack our 24 ft truck. The couple who bought our home came to get their key and they started moving in right as we left.

When we got to Cedar I went to get the key and Brent to the truck to the house. I also went to go and get Erica to come and hang out with us while we moved in. My Dad, Tony, and Lance Stott came to help us move in. Some people in the ward were moving into a basement apartment down the street and saw our truck and came over to help us. It took them 45 mins to clear out our truck. We were so grateful for the help. When we moved to Richfield 2 1/2 years ago it was my Dad and Brent moving us in all by themselves. I'm sure they were both glad for all the help this time.

We are loving our home. Erica will come up to me and tell me how much she loves her new house all the time. We are felling home sick for Richfield and Friends, but there will be an adjusting period we will go though. Thanks to everyone who has helped use with this move.

December 26th 2010: Derek's Blessing Day

The day after Christmas we were able to Bless Derek Charles Davis in the Richfield 10th Ward. I really wanted to do it before we moved from Richfield and also the biggest reason was because Nancy was in town. When we blessed Jackson Brent was not able to have any family there. All of my sisters and their family and my Parents were there also. Brent also invited Kaden to stand in the circle with the family. Amanda and Kaden Waters were also their. We had become really good friends with them, they were pretty much our family while living in Richfield. After Church everyone came back to our house where we had lunch and spent time together as a family.
Brent gave a really great Blessing like always does. I love that he gives it so much thought before had of what he wants to say. It always surprises me what he says because it is so perfect, and so thought out. I'm grateful that he is able to give our children blessings.

Christmas Day

Christmas Morning Brent and I woke up to a very excited little Erica exclaiming that Santa had been there and he had given her a Kitchen. She could not wait for Jackson to open her presents and just jumped right in trying to open whatever gift she could get her hands on. She never really got that she could only open the gifts with her name on them.

Brent (Santa) got Jackson this Shank N' Go race car track. It was a big hit with both Jackson and Erica.

It was so much fun this year with Christmas. I just love watching the kids get so excited about all of their gifts. As they get older I know that it will just get more and more fun to watch their excitement.

After all the gifts were opened we just rested the rest of the day. My Mom and Dad and Janet came though to see the kids on their way up to Springville to see the Bott family.

Christmas Eve

We were so lucky to have Nana (Brent's Mom) with us for Christmas this year. On Christmas Eve she gave them all new jammies and the "Toy Story 3" movie. They both loved the new movie. I have never seen Jackson so intent on a movie. Erica and Jackson just sat and watched the movie while Brent and I laid on the couches for some needed rest from out Energizer Bunnies aka: the kids.
