13 Steps

Poor little Jackson, he wasn't being watched the greatest. I was making dinner on Tuesday and thought that Brent was watching him. Brent was getting changed after work and thought that I was watching him. Well about 9 steps later I heard a bang and ran to the stairs leading the our basement. I looked down and Jackson was 4 steps from the bottom. It was so sad, poor kid. Erica had opened the gate to go down stairs when I thought that it was locked. I guess that you can't think something is safe when there is a two year old around, and you also think that someone else is watching the kids.

  1. Like father, like son. Brent's big brother helped push him down the stairs when he was just 6 weeks old! At least Jackson had carpet on his stairs.

  2. Oh man! That is a rough one! Hope he is ok! Glad you found our blog Carol. Now I can add your blog and keep up with you and Brent and your cute little family. I saw the gingerbread houses -- WOW!!! Those are some serious houses. All good, one with a garage, even! Very creative but I'm going to have to go with house #2. Crazy!

  3. Oh no! Poor little guy! It's a good thing kids are so resilient. Ryan fell head first through the gate and down the entire flight our wood stairs when he was about the same age. The only thing that kept him from cracking his head on the concrete floor was that I had another gate at the bottom of the stairs. The force of his fall knocked the bottom gate away from the bottom step just enough to lodge his head between the gate and step. I saw the entire thing happen, but wasn't fast enough to catch him....it was such a terrible thing to experience as a mother!

  4. Carol. Cute blog! That was so funny about Erica watering the boy. You must still have plants you water. LOL. I am still laughing.
