I need your help!

We have been potty training Erica since Aug. 2009. She was doing so great. She will go #1 all by herself, but #2 is a different story. We had tried treats, stickers, redbox, no underwear, cold showers, time outs. I just don't know what I can do to motivate her. Today she pooped in her underwear again, so I told her that if she was doing to act like a baby then I would treat her like one. I went and go a diaper out and put it on her and have been calling her my baby. She doesn't like it and keeps telling me that she is a big girl. What would you do?

  1. In spite of all the potty training adventures we'd had at our house, #2 training hasn't been too terrible for us....so, I'm not offering this advice from experience, merely as something that I've heard suggested from several people, including our pediatrician. She said that sometimes using handheld video games helps to relax a child enough that they forget their fear (or whatever is holding them back) that they are able to poop, and then after they've been successful a few times, they have the hang of it and it's not a problem anymore.

I wish I could say "It works wonders!" but I don't really know....so take it for what it's worth.

I used to put my kids on the potty and read to them. I imagine it had the same effect of playing a game. I'm not sure I would credit that with them being successful, but it might be worth a try as well.
