(Derek after just waking up on his Birthday)

Guess who turned One today!  DEREK!!!

I can't believe it.  This year went by so fast.  I remember when Erica turned one and how that first year went by so slow.  Jackson's first year went a little faster.

He cut his 7th took a couple weeks ago.  He now has four teeth on top and three on the bottom.

He is either really happy and laughing all the time or he is upset and screeching at you.  Sometimes its hard to tell if he is laughing for screaming.  If you can't see his face it's really hard to tell because the laughing and screaming sound the same.  At the end of October he took five steps in a row to me.  At 11 1/2 months he starting walking all the time.  He has started walking so much sooner than Erica and Jackson.  They weren't that far behind him though.

He loves to play peek-a-boo.  The other day he was standing my the stairs.  He would hide on the stairs and then turn his head around the corning when I said "were is Derek".  He has the biggest, cutest grin.  He also loves to play peek-a-boo with his blanket when he is going to bed.

He is starting to carry his blanket around.  He likes to bring it with him after he takes a nap.  It's so funny how all of are kids are so attached to their blankets.  He is just like Erica and Jackson.  When he has a hold of his blanket he likes to suck on his two middle fingers on his left hand.

Tonight we are having a Cookie Monster birthday party for him.  Grandparent's and cousins are all coming.  I can't wait.  It's going to be so cute.
