Erica is 5 years old today.
Now that Erica is a "big girl" Brent and I though it would be a good idea to start giving her a job around teh house. She was very excited about this idea. Her new job would be to make her bed every morning right after she woke up. This morning she didn't make it right away but I didn't want to nag because it was her first day on the job. A couple of hours later though I hear Erica call down to me. She wanted me to come up to her room. She had made her bed without being asked and was so proud of herself. I was very proud of her too.

All morning was spent making sugar cookies for her Dance class and her pre-school class. She also wanted some banana's for for pre-school class. Who would argue with healthy food for a snack? I sure wouldn't. A little before we took Erica to dance class and Jackson to school Erica opened her first gift of the day. It was a new bright blue shirt with a ruffled ice cream cone in rainbow colors on the front. She loved it and had to wear it to dance class. At dance class Erica handed out all her cookies to the class and then we headed to get her a hamburger and fries from McDonald's (her favorite place to eat). And then after picking up Jackson we headed to pre-school. Derek was such a good sport and rode around with me though all of this running around.
We let Erica pick what we ate for dinner (within reason...or else it would have been peanut butter cups, candy canes, and chocalate icecream). Turkey sandwiches, corn, green jello cake, and pop was her choice...not bad. After dinner we treated her to a small Dora the Explorer cake and sang happy birthday. When she was all done with her cake and ice cream she told us that she needed a bath in our tub. So Brent helped her with her bath while I cleaned up the kitchen and the boys. After baths we went down stairs to open Erica's other present from all of us. She was so excited. We gave her a pink barbie car to go with her new barbie house from Christmas.
It's so hard to believe that she is 5 now. In the next 8 months or so she will be heading off to kindergarten. She can't wait for that. Erica is such a great kid and we love her so much.

Can't wait for pictures!
