On Monday November 11, 2013 Brent and I woke up and went to the hospital around 7:00am. Nancy stayed with us so that she could watch the kids for us. We went in to the OB and they started to give me an antibiotic. I need to have it about 4 hours before I delivered. While I hung out at the hospital Brent went into work for a meeting. Around 11:30 I called Brent and couldn't get ahold of him. I wanted him to get the the Hospital soon because then told me that Laurie my midwife was coming around noon to break my water. I started to get nervous because I couldn't get a hold of him. I called my Mom to ask her to try calling because my phone was about to die. Laurie came in to my room at 12:00 and broke my water. Thank goodness Brent got there a little later. I started to have contractions and Brent and the nurse helped me to manage them. I sat in a rocking chair for most of the time. Around 1:45 maybe I told the nurse that I thought the baby wanted to come soon. She felt that I wasn't ready and that I should get in the tub to help my pain. So we started the tub and I got in. Brent stayed in the bathroom with me. I would hold onto his arm when I would have a contraction because I was worried that I would go under the water if I didn't. I did not like being in the tub. It did not help with the pain at all. If anything the pain got worse. The only think that I can think that would make it worse was the baby's had was moving down. After about 10 min I told Brent that I needed to get out because the baby was coming. Brent and the nurse helped me to get out. They called Laurie while I rushed to the bed. The seconded I laid down on the bed I felt the need to push. Laurie made it right in time to see the baby's head come out. After the head come out Brent and Laurie helped to motivate me to continue pushing. When the baby come out at 2:09 pm Brent announced that we had another boy. We had waited to find out the sex of the baby. They laid Chase on me and then started working on the after birth coming out. I was so out of it at the time that it is hard to recall everything that happened. I just remember that they started pushing on my stomach to get the placenta out and that hurt really bad. Then a nurse came over to give me a shot of patosin that I did not know was going to happen. I asked if they could put it in the IV. I did not want to be pocked after all the pain that I had been in. After the placenta came out I would not stop bleeding so that asked if the could give me the shot again in the leg so that the medicine would work faster to help the bleeding to stop. Brent looked really worried because of the amount of Blood there was. I couldn't comprehend really what was going on. I was just ready for everyone to leave me alone. Finally they got the bleeding to stop and Laurie stitched me up because I had a small tear. I was so grateful to be finally done. It was an intense experience. I thought that it would be similar to my experience with Derek but it was not. The contractions for so much for powerful this time but it didn't hurt to push like it did with Derek. I'm so grateful to have our cute little boy here and safe. I'm also grateful for all the medical staff and Brent for helping me though it.
