Around 2:00pm we arrived in Juneau. We had to anchor away from the dock because there were 4 other cruise ships docked. They would shuttle everyone to the docks. Brent and I didn't get off the boat until 4:00pm because it took forever to call our number. We also didn't know until later that we had to get a number to get off the ship.
One of 4 shuttle boats.
Brent and I got some bus tickets and headed up to Mendenhale Glacier. It took forever to get there. It was 5:15pm when we got there and the bus driver told us that the last shuttle back was leaving at 6:00. That didn't give us much time. So we ran to see the glacier and then ran down a trail to try and get to the Falls by the glacier but we only go about half way before we needed to turn back. On the way to the falls there was a group of people looking for a diamond earring that a women had lost. We walked slowly past and looked as best we could. When we came back around again they were gone. I hope she was able to find it.
When we arrived back in Juneau we walked around the town. It wasn't our favorite town to talk through. It was kind of dirty and had a bar or pub every other door. We did find Jackson and Derek some cute shirts.
A picture on the way back to the boat. One interesting fact about Juneau. It is the Capital of Alaska but you can only get there by flying or on a boat. There are not roads to Juneau. While we were there we heard some political stuff going on about building a road to Juneau.
